Founded in 1998, the Chama Valley Humane Society is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization supported entirely through fundraising, private donations, and grants.

Our mission is to provide no-kill solutions to reduce the population of homeless cats and dogs by sponsoring a spay and neuter program for companion pets and feral cats, working with regional shelters and foster homes to rehabilitate and rehome animals, and educating those in the community we serve about responsible pet ownership.

Thank you for your support!

We are always in need of Foster Homes.  Foster homes makes it possible to save other homeless pets.  There is nothing more rewarding than opening up your home to a homeless pet, taking care of it's needs, then finding that perfect home to spend the rest of it's life in.

If you would like to open your home and your heart to a homeless pet, please complete our Foster Application.

A Rainy but Successful Jog, Walk, and Wag!

Rain (and mud) didn’t stop our 66 runners and walkers (and the 5 Puppy Runners)!  The 10K winners were Vincent Hesch from Santa Fe and Raferlita Vigil from Dulce. The 5K winners were Jeff Albertson of Brazos and Kelly Branchal from Albuquerque.  Many dogs were there too, and 12 went home with prizes.

In case you couldn’t be there you can click here to view the slide show created by Kerry Howard.

Thanks to all who made this year’s event a waggin’ good time!
