Founded in 1998, the Chama Valley Humane Society is
an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization supported entirely
through fundraising, private donations, and grants.

Our mission is to provide no-kill solutions to reduce the
population of homeless cats and dogs by sponsoring a
spay and neuter program for companion pets and feral cats,
working with regional shelters and foster homes to
rehabilitate and rehome animals, and educating those in the
community we serve about responsible pet ownership.

Thank you for your support!

We are always in need of Foster Homes.  Foster homes makes it possible to save other homeless pets.  There is nothing more rewarding than opening up your home to a homeless pet, taking care of it's needs, then finding that perfect home to spend the rest of it's life in.

If you would like to open your home and your heart to a homeless pet, please complete our Foster Application.

RESCUES
RESCUES
Rescuing animals requires the help of many people - foster families, adopters, transporters who take animals to the vet for
spay/neuter procedures or shots and who drive rescued animals to the facilities willing to take in our rescued animals to help them
find new homes.

Thank you to all of those who help make our rescue efforts possible.

See our Adoptable Pets page or check Facebook for information on animals still needing homes.

For more details about our rescue efforts over the last several years, please go to the About Us page.

Chama Humane Society has created

The Susan Langston Memorial Fund

to continue and expand our monthly Pet
Pantry. Susan often helped with the Pet Pantry,
which provides dog and cat food and straw to
local pet owners in need. We feel it exemplifies
her dedication to bettering the lives of the
people and animals of our community. You can
contribute via PayPal (click on the Donate
button below), check (see address below), or
Facebook. Please specify that the donation is in
honor of Susan (this requires a message or
other communication if you donate via
Facebook.)

Our mailing address is PO Box 131, Chama, NM.
