Our MIssion:
PET PANTRY
Thanks to several generous monthly donors and The Susan Langston Memorial Fund we can offer dog and cat food on a first-come, first-served basis to local residents at our monthly Pet Pantry. During the colder months, we also provide bags of straw for doghouses.
Unfortunately, the demand for food has been increasing, while our supply of food has not. This, along with the rising cost of pet food, affects our ability to provide everyone with the food needed to help.
We realize there are animals that are not spayed/neutered and this, naturally, results in more mouths to feed. We have always offered free or low-cost spay/neuter vouchers in order to reduce the need for residents to come to us for extra food. In addition, we recently received a grant from the State of New Mexico for free spay/neuter surgeries. Click HERE to see if you qualify. We also encourage you to call us directly at 888-666-0641, Opt 1 to obtain a voucher.
We do not screen anyone; but, do ask that those who can afford it leave the food for those less fortunate. We are also encouraging recipients of food to spay and neuter their animals by providing low-cost spay-neuter vouchers and ensuring they are used within a few months of receipt. We have far too many unwanted kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs in our area!
Unless we can turn the tide on unwanted puppies and kittens; the Humane Society may need to limit our free food giveaways to those who only have spayed or neutered puppies and/or kittens.
WE HOPE WE CAN ALL WORK TOGETHER TO ENSURE THAT EVERY CAT, DOG, KITTEN AND PUPPY IS WANTED, FED, WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND IS A MEMBER OF A HAPPY, LOVING HOME.
The Pet Pantry is held from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on the third Saturday of every month.
